Mrs. Esmeralda H. (Herincx) Santiago, a resident of North Andover, formerly of Methuen and beloved wife of the late Manuel Santiago, died at the Academy Manor Nursing Center in Andover on Wednesday, December 18, 2013. She was 93 years old.
Born in Guatemala on July 27, 1920, she was the beloved daughter of the late Maurice and Olimpia (Herrera) Herincx. Mrs. Santiago enjoyed cooking and her greatest love was spending time with her beloved family.
She will be very sorely missed by her loving children; Concepcion Quinonez of Florida, Olga Alvarado of North Andover and Jorge and his wife Maria Santiago of Florida, ten grandchildren (Julio Quinonez and wife, Hugo Q. and wife, Jorge Estuardo Q. and wife, Jose Q. and wife, John Q., Victor Alvarado, Mario A. and wife, Vivana Santiago, David S., and Henry Izaguirre), eight great-grandchildren (Pedro, Andrea, Anthony, Ana Carolina, Daniel, Sasha, Jorge Alfonso, and Christian) and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral mass was celebrated in St. Michael Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover, Monday, December 23, 2013, at noon. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Calling hours were held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Sunday, December 22, 2013, from 4 to 7 PM. Interment was held in the Evergreen Cemetery in Brighton.
