Lenora (De Souto) Moniz, 83, of Swansea passed away on December 17, 2013. She was the wife of the late Edward A. Moniz. Born in Fall River she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Diamentina (Farias) DeSouto. Lenora was a Swansea resident for 60 years, a graduate of Durfee High School class of 1948, and was a parishioner of St. John of God parish.
Survivors include two sons Edward A. Moniz Jr. (wife Jean) of Swansea and Michael A. Moniz of Pembroke, MA; a daughter Linda LePage (husband Steven) of Swansea; a brother John DeSouto of Somerset; two sisters Francis Alexander of Somerset and Madeline Carmody of CT; four grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Frank A. Moniz and her siblings Joseph DeSouto and Mary Alvares.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. THURSDAY at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Somerset at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Swansea. Calling hours THURSDAY 8:30 - 9:30 A.M.
