Melva Brown, age 61, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Brown was born on August 10, 1952, in Douglas, GA to Louise Cady Hursey and the late Marion Melvin Hursey.
Survivors include: her husband, Paul Brown of Douglas, GA, two sons, Peter (Jan) Brown of Wray, GA and Michael (Cindy) Brown of Douglas, GA, two sisters, Kathy Chaney of Douglas, GA and Lynn Hursey of Douglas, GA, four grandchildren, Sheala Brown, Laykin Brown, Maggie Brown and Mollie Brown, mother, Louise Hursey of Douglas, GA, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 6-9 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Chaney officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery.
