Obituary

FAIRHAVEN — Marion L. Brightman, a life long area resident, died Saturday evening at Our Lady's Haven in Fairhaven at the age of 94 years.

She was born in New Bedford, February 20, 1919, the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Caroline (Cochrane) Brightman.

A longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church, Marion worked in the clothing department at the former Arlan's Department store for 25 years, and then was employed for many years as a dietary aid at the N.B. Jewish Convalescent Home. In her younger years she attended Kinyon Commercial School and in later years was active with the Bayberry Forever Young Club and served as secretary.

She is survived by a sister, Rosamond R. Reilly of New Jersey, nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and grand nephews.

Marion was the sister of the late Dorothy C. Brightman, the late Mary L. Tripp and the late Ralph E. Brightman Jr.

Visitation will take place in the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford, on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. Her services will be at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:30 a.m., followed by burial in the family plot in Rural Cemetery.
