Doris T. (Proulx) Benoit, age 82, passed away on Sunday Dec. 15, 2013 at the Baystate Medical Center. She was born on June 27, 1931, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Adeliska (Lefebvre) Proulx. Doris worked as a cashier for Big Y for many years before she retired. She was a communicant of St Rose de Lima Church. She was a member of the Chicopee Senior Center, the American Bosch Senior Travel Club and also the Chicopee Falls Woman’s Club. She is predeceased by her husband Donald J. Benoit, who passed away on June 13, 2010. She leaves her son Michael P. Benoit and his wife Barbara of Chicopee; 2 daughters Gail Sasseville of Belchertown and Tracy Schlagel and her husband Gregory of Chicopee; 1 grandson Michael Russell of West Springfield and a sister-in-law Susan Proulx. She is predeceased by her brother Roger Proulx. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in St Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St, Chicopee followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
