Jewel Buford “Boots” Bell, age 78, died Monday, December 16, 2013 at his home in Water Valley, MS. He was born April 6, 1935 in Yalobusha County, MS to the late Wilbur and Ruth Goforth Bell. Boots worked for many years as a diesel mechanic for Ford Motor Company, and later owned and operated a heavy equipment dirt and dozer business. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. He was a member of O’Tuckalofa Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS.
Visitation is planned for Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Rev. Raymond Aven officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Crest Memorial Cemetery in Yalobusha County, MS.
Boots is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bula Faye McCain Bell of Water Valley, MS; three daughters, Brenda Bell and Linda Melton Potts (James) all of Water Valley, MS and Nell Bell Ray (Ronald) of Grenada, MS; one son, Earl Bell (Mary) of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Louise Zachary of Hernando, MS; one brother, Noel Lee “Pug” Bell (Holly Field) of Coffeeville, MS; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
