WORCESTER___Maria T. (Zangrillo) Giangrande, 88, of 79 Orton St., Ext., died Monday Oct. 4 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center. Her husband of 67 years, Salvatore J. Giangrande died May 22. They are together forever.
She leaves two daughters, Frances T. Giangrande of North Grafton; Pamela A. Zalauskas and her husband Leonard of Worcester; a brother, George Zangrillo of Smithtown, NY; three sisters, Ida Stanganelli of Patchogue, NY; Clara Terenzi of Happauge, NY; and Esther Terenzi of Deer Park, NY; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters, Pat Zangrillo, Vera Angelone and Ann Montesano. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, daughter of Joseph and Angelina (Thomasina) Zangrillo and lived many years in New York, 8 years in Sarasota, FL, and 11 years here.
Mrs. Giangrande was a merchandise order filler for a Queens pharmaceutical co., for several years retiring in 1968. Previously, she was a sales clerk with the Mays Dept. Stores and many years ago she was a seamstress.
The funeral will be held on Thursday Oct. 7 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Casimir’s Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
