Brattan, Virginia Anne ( D’ettore), 89, of Hingham, died December 12, at the South Shore Hospital. Virginia born on January 16, 1924 to Nicholas and Mary (Orlando) D’ettore in Reading, PA. Wife of the late R. Franklin Brattan III, she was also predeceased by siblings John, Helen, and Nancy.
Graduated from Bryn Mawr Hospital School of nursing in 1946, where she met Franklin. They married in 1949 and moved to Moosehead Lake in Greenville, ME. They eventually settled in Weymouth and Quincy where they raised their five children, Bonnie Gibbons (spouse Michael) of Braintree, Jody Camille (spouse Milton) of NH, Judy Marshall (husband Jim deceased) of ME, Robert F. Brattan IV (spouse Nancy) of NH, and Nick also from NH. She has 14 grandchildren and 4 great- grandchildren. Virginia worked as a nurse at Bryn Mawr Hospital and Quincy Nursing Home. She also taught at Saint Ann’s School in Wollaston. She died peacefully Wednesday surrounded by her loving family.
A funeral Mass was celebrated December 13th in Saint Albert’s Church, Weymouth.
