New Bedford – Fernanda J. Mariano, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on Monday December 9, 2013. She was the longtime companion of Joe Rose and the daughter of Maria Deolinda (Bettencourt) and Ilidio Luna. Fernanda was born in Faial, Açores and immigrated to this country with her family in 1969. Mrs. Mariano loved walking and swimming at the beach.
Her family includes her parents, Maria Deolinda and Ilidio, of Portugal; her daughter, Joyce Mariano-Mendonca and her husband, Nuno of Fall River; 3 siblings: Victor Luna and his wife Maria Sue of E. Taunton, Maria Goretti Sousa and her husband Ken of Bristol, RI and the late David Luna; her longtime companion of 25 years, Joe Rose of New Bedford, as well as several nieces and nephews.
