Obituary

CHICOPEE – Pauline D. (Winn) Gaudette Cormier, 86, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, December 10, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at Wingate at West Springfield surrounded by her loving family and caregivers. She was born in Ware, MA on October 1, 1927, a beloved daughter of the late Frank L. and Ida M. (Flammand) Winn. She was raised in Ware and later moved to Springfield, graduating from Cathedral High School in 1944. She resided in Springfield for many years before moving to Chicopee in 1989. She was employed for many years as a cosmetics clerk at the Stop & Shop at the “X” in Springfield. Her greatest joy in life was being a homemaker to her family and showering them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was a longtime communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee and a member of the Chicopee Senior Center. She was predeceased by her beloved first husband, Lawrence F. Gaudette who was Called Home on July 21, 1986; and her beloved second husband, Kenneth J. Cormier who was Called Home on January 12, 2001. She leaves her seven loving children, Paul G. Gaudette of West Springfield, Robert A. “Bob” Gaudette and his wife, Jeanne, of Southampton, Lawrence E. “Larry” Gaudette of Turners Falls, Gary F. Gaudette and his wife, Charlene, of Springfield, William C. “Bill” Gaudette of Chicopee, Laura L. Reid of Agawam, and Catherine A. “Kat” Batista and her husband, Mark, of Wilbraham; her 17 cherished grandchildren and 15 cherished great-grandchildren; her dear brother, Frank L. Winn, III and his wife, Margaret, of Harwich, MA and Naples, FL; her dear sister, Beverly A. Winn of Sun City, AZ; her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Gaudette, Cormier, Winn and Flammand families; and her many dear friends including her close friend, Mary Gibbs of Westfield. In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was also predeceased by her dear brother, Robert E. Winn who was Called Home in 1989; her dear sister and brother-in-law, Elaine T. Cimino who was Called Home on May 13, 2013 and Frank Cimino; and her many dear friends including her close friend, Paul Gibbs. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, December 13, 2013 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday (Today), December 12, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Chicopee Council on Aging Building Fund, 7 Valley View Court, Chicopee, MA 01020.
