Salvatore DiFranco, of Medford, died Sunday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. He was 89.
Mr. DiFranco was born in Augusta, Sicily, the son of the late Domenic and the late Caterina (DiAugusta) DiFranco. In 1956 he and his family came to America and settled in Medford in 1961. Salvatore worked many years at the New England Confectionary Company, Cambridge, NECCO, as a candy maker. He was also a member of the Confectioner’s Union.
He is survived by his wife, Giuseppa (Prato) DiFranco. He leaves his son, Domenic and his wife Laurie and a grandson Brian. He is also survived by a sister Josephine Lombardo in Sicily.
Friends and family may visit Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Clement Church, Medford, Thursday at 10 AM with the Rev. James O'Driscoll presiding. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Community Mausoleum, Everett.
