Wilbert Miller, 84, of New Bedford died December 10, 2013 at Sacred Heart Home after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Carolyn (Terry) Miller.
Born in Augusta, GA, the son of the late Willie and Rosa (Thomas) Miller, he lived in New York before moving to New Bedford 47 years ago.
Mr. Miller was a member of For His Glory Christian Assembly.
He was formerly employed by Chamberlain Manufacturing before retiring from Polaroid. Mr. Miller was a fun loving person who liked to help others.
Survivors include his children, Wilbert Miller, Jr. of New York City, Marlene Johnson of Plainfield, NJ, Ramona Miller-Meadows of Atlanta, GA, Sarah Avery of Alabama, Suzanne Pierce and Willie Pierce, both of New Bedford, Barbara Miller and Shelley Miller, both of New York City; 2 brothers, Elmer Miller and Bruce Brockington, both of New York City; a sister, Blanche Torrain of New York City; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Desiree Miller and Blanche Miller.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 13th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday, December 12th from 6-8 PM.
