Augustino J. “Gus” “Fatty” DiPinto, 80 of Medford died Saturday at home after a long illness.
Born in Somerville he lived in Medford since 1968, and was the son of the late Raphael and Anita (Cicirano) DiPinto.
Mr. DiPinto was a 1942 Somerville High School graduate, and a 1953 Northeastern University graduate. Gus was a WW II Army veteran serving from 1943 to 1945 and received the Purple Heart and 1 Battle Star on EAMETO Ribbon. He was a Accountant with the IRS from 1954 to 1968 and then was self employed from 1968 to 1978. He was a life member of the Disable American Veterans.
Beloved husband of Lorraine (Poirier) DiPinto. Devoted father of Linda Pasciuto and her husband of Tony, Dianne DeMatteo and her husband Michael all of Medford, Raymond DiPinto and his wife Donna of Woburn, Denise Nastasia and her husband David of Methuen. Loving grandfather of Venessa, Michelle, Greg, Daniel, Derek, Briana, Dana, and Marc. Brother of Salvatore DiPinto of Reading, Lee Bettinelli of Waltham, Ralph DiPinto of Andover, Anna White of Framingham, and the late Vincent and Anthony DiPinto. Brother-in-law of Donald and Jane Poirier of Vermont.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 11 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
