Alexandria Regina (LoPresti) Freda, A long-time Reading resident, died Saturday at the Merrimac Valley Hospital, after a long struggle with Alzheimers disease. She was 82.
Mrs. Freda was born and raised in Cambridge, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Ines (Sodi) LoPresti. A dedicated wife and mother, Alexandria and her husband Joseph settled in Reading in 1956.
She was the beloved wife of Joseph Freda with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Joseph Freda, Salvatore Freda, both of Reading, James Freda of Windham, NH, Ines Height of Derry, NH, and Deborah DeFeudis of No. Andover. She was a loving “Grammy” to Ines, Michelle, Heidi, Michael, Stacey, Lisa, Joseph, Alexandria, John, Joey, Eric, 1st Lt. James Freda, USMC and dear great-grandmother to Jordan, Michael, Tommy, and Christian. She was the sister of Vincenzo LoPresti, Joseph LoPresti, Leanna Inacio, Robert Valenti, Fiorello Valenti, Richard Valenti, the late Raffaela Scarlatta, Mary Albano, Salvatore Valenti,and Donald Valenti.
Relatives and friends may visit Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, Medford, Wednesday at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
