Hoke S. Gentry, 94, of Lands Crossing Community, Irwin County, Georgia, died Sunday, October 3, 2004, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 2 P.M., Tuesday, October 4, 2004, at Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. John Gibbs, Sr. and Rev. L.A. Pate officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 Monday evening.
Mr. Gentry was born August 22, 1910, in Abba, Georgia, to the late Lumpkin Gentry and Ophelia Mauldin Gentry. He was a retired farmer and a Mason.
He is survived by one son: Marvin H. Gentry, Lands Crossing Community, Irwin County, GA; one grandson: Kirk Gentry, Lands Crossing Community, Irwin County, GA and one great granddaughter: Rachel Gentry, Lands Crossing Community, Irwin County, GA. He was preceded in death his wife: Ruby Lee Butts Gentry; one son: Glenn L. Gentry and one grandson: Eric W. Gentry.
