Josephine F. (Wlodkowski) Siderski, age 97, of Lynn, died after a brief illness at the Aviv Living Center Dec. 6.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Stanislaw and Bronislawa (Popkowski) Wlodkowski, and the wife of the late John T. Siderski.
She graduated from the Lynn school system. She worked in the General Electric during World War II. She was the owner and operator of Joan of Lynn Beauty Salon on Market Street for 25 years. She also worked for the IRS for several years.
She was a member of the GE Retirees, P.L.A.V.A. Auxiliary where she was past state and chapter president. She was formerly a board member of the Lynn Council on Aging. She also ran ‘bus’ trips to Foxwoods and was an avid Bingo player.
She is survived by one son, John D. Siderski of Lynn; and one daughter, Janice J. Knowles of Newton, N.H. Loving grandmother of three grandchildren, John B. Knowles of New Hampshire, Douglas B. Knowles of Marblehead, Jamie Knowles Callaghan, Sierra Vista, Ariz. Also several great grandchildren.
Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at the NADWORNY Funeral Home, 798 Western Ave., Lynn on Monday at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 2-5 p.m. Those who wish may make donations to the Northeast Animal Shelter on Highland Avenue, Salem or the charity of their choice.
