William E. “Ted” Blackham, Jr., 61

Dateline: Attleboro, MA

William E. “Ted” Blackham, Jr. age 61, of Attleboro passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the comfort of his home on Friday, December 6, 2013.
He was the beloved husband of Betty C. (Lopes) Blackham to whom he was married on August 25, 1974.
Born in Brookline, MA on December 1, 1952, he was a loving son of the late William E., Sr. and Eleanor (MacDonald) Blackham.
Ted grew up in Canton and was a 1971 graduate of Canton High School. He continued his education and was a graduate Northeastern University.
Mr. Blackham was a Project Support Specialist for Odyssey Systems and for past 25 years had worked at Hanscom Air Force Base where he was admired and highly respected by his fellow colleagues.
Ted had made his home in Attleboro for the past 28 years and had formerly resided in Canton. He was deeply dedicated to his family and his working career, and especially enjoyed the simple pleasure of spending time at home and engaging in home improvement projects.
Ted was also a sports enthusiast, his favorite sport being golf, a hobby he shared with his wife Betty. He was a member of the Memorial Hospital Golf League as well as golf leagues at his place of employment. Ted was also a New England sports fan and his favorite team to cheer on was the Boston Celtics.
When his children were younger he received much joy and pleasure supporting there sporting events which included coaching basketball and softball.
In addition to his beloved wife of 39 years, he is survived by his loving and devoted children, Todd W. Blackham of Norton and Tracy L. Blackham of Pawtucket. He is also survived his dear siblings, Jane Humphrey and her husband Bob of California, his twin brother David Blackham and his wife Nancy of Weymouth and the late Donald Blackham. Ted is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, December 10th at 10:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave,) Norton. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 9th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
