Mr. William F. Snyder, a resident of North Andover and beloved husband of Maureen (McCreven) Snyder died at his home on Wednesday evening, December 4, 2013. He was 77 years old.
Born in Cortland, New York, on December 24, 1935, he was the beloved son of the late William A. Snyder and Ethel (Trumble) Bagley. Bill was a Korean and Vietnam Marine veteran, entering the military at Albany, New York, on August 4, 1953 and receiving his honorable discharge from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on August 3, 1956. While in the military, Mr. Snyder worked as a Radio Operator and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Service Medal for his outstanding service. Mr. Snyder was employed as the East Coast Sales Manager for Viking for many years and was formerly employed for more than 12 years as the Parking Clerk by the City of Gloucester. He was a Life Member of the VFW in Wakefield.
Besides his beloved wife, Maureen, Bill will be very sorely missed by his three loving sons; Craig Snyder of Georgia, Kevin Snyder of West Virginia and Timothy and his wife Tammy Snyder of Marble Falls, Arkansas, five devoted step-children; Rosemary and her husband Robert Kenney of Tewksbury, Dorothy and her husband Patrick Real of Newton, New Hampshire, Anthony and his wife Lisa LaBella of Brentwood, New Hampshire, Christopher and his wife Lani LaBella of Lawrence and Patrick and his wife Karen LaBella of Everett, brother; John and his wife Anna Snyder of Oneonta, New York, 24 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Shirley Simmons Robert Snyder and Richard Snyder.
His funeral mass was celebrated in the church of St. Michael, 196 Main Street, North Andover, Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 11:30 AM. Many relatives and friends attended. Calling hours were held in the Burke-Magliozzi 390 North Main Street, Andover on Friday, December 6, 2013, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was held in the West Parish Garden Cemetery in Andover.
