Obituary

Margie I. Prather, LPN, 91, formerly of Smithfield, died Monday, December 2, 2013 at Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the widow of Harold Prather.

Born in Arthur, Illinois, she was one of six children of the late Willie Eugene and Nellie Bernice (Richardson) Nixon. She had lived in Longmeadow, MA for 30 years before moving to Rhode Island.

She served in the US Navy during WWII. She retired from Bay State Medical Center in Springfield, MA in 1987. She was a member of the Pascoag and Smithfield Sr. Center. She was a member of WINGS at St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

She is survived by her children: Judith E. Daniels Delaney, Michael P. Delaney, her grandchildren: Jayson L., Jarret E. and Justin Daniels and his wife Jessika, Lt. Col Alyson Fellner and her husband, Joseph, Devlin Hagan, Kyle P. Delaney and his wife, Devan and great grandchildren: Jemma Bay Daniels, River, Zander and Audra Delaney. She is also survived by 3 nephews, a niece and a great niece. She was the sister of the late Bob, Betty, Donald, Jim and Mary.

Her funeral service will be held Friday at 10 am in St. Thomas Church, Rt 44 and 116, Greenville. Military honors to be rendered immediately following the service. Visitation respectfully omitted.
