Elizabeth J. Bjork, 58, of Derry, NH died Monday, December 2, 2013 at Merrimack Valley Hospice in Haverhill, MA, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Bjork was born October 24, 1955 in Salem, MA and was the daughter of the late Remo and Mary (Raimo) Ruscio. She was raised and educated in Swampscott, MA, and was a graduate of Swampscott High School. She also continued her education at Northern Essex Community College. Mrs. Bjork had worked as an Executive Secretary for various companies in Boston and the Northern, MA area. Most recently, she had been a homemaker and stay at home mom. Elizabeth had been a resident of Derry since 2004, having previously resided in Conway, NH from 1998 to 2004, and Haverhill, MA.
Mrs. Bjork enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Derry Garden Club. She was also a communicant and very active member of the Holy Cross Church. Elizabeth was an amazing cook, who was well known for her Italian cuisine and other specialties. She will forever be remembered as a loving daughter, wife, and mother.
Members of the family include her husband of 27 years, David Bjork of Derry, two daughters, Mary Beth and Jacqueline Bjork, both of Derry, two brothers, John Ruscio, and James Ruscio, both of Haverhill, MA.
Calling hours were held Thursday December 5th from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday at 10 A.M. at Holy Cross Church, 187 Hampstead Rd., Derry. The burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry.
