Rex Caskey, 93, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at Dorminy Medical Center, Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 3, 2004, at Prospect Baptist Church, with Rev. Harris Johnson and Rev. Darrell Hampton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Caskey was born December 8, 1910, in Hampton, Kentucky, to the late C.J. Caskey and Maude Wilson Caskey. He served in the United States Marine Corps, serving in Nicaragua in Central America. Mr. Caskey lived in Fitzgerald since 1979, where he was an employee of Wal-Mart. He was a former resident of Portland, Oregon and Malheur County, Oregon, where he served as a Deputy Sheriff. He was also a retired cabinet maker and carpenter. Mr. Caskey was a member of Prospect Baptist Church and was a member of the V.F.W.
Mr. Caskey is survived by his sons: Terry, Gary, Larry and Jerry Caskey, all of San Jose, CA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Patricia Leonard.
