Russell C. Carpenter of Natick died on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the Mary Ann Morse Nursing Home of Natick. He was 92 years old.
Born on January 1, 1921 in Hampton, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late Edwin & Rose (Langlois) Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter graduated from Hampton High School and enlisted in the United States Navy and served our country proudly on submarines during World War II.
After his military service he owned a gas station in New Hampshire and then moved to Massachusetts. He was employed as a supervisor with the Wayland Public Schools for over fourteen years.
Russell enjoyed dancing hunting, woodworking, camping and flying his single engine plane.
He was the devoted husband of the late Catherine (Pierce) Carpenter & Barbara (LeBlanc) Carpenter. Loving father of Gary Carpenter of Barrington, NH, Dawn Cassidy of Panama City, FL, Susan Knous of Worcester, Cynthia Miccile & her husband Bruce of Millis, Deborah Brochu & her husband Mark of Natick & the late Carol Carpenter. Caring stepfather of Linda Cook of Zephyrhills, FL, Debra Hewins & her husband Steve of Maynard & the late Jimmy LeBlanc.
Cherished grandfather of 14 & many great grandchildren. Brother of the late Edwin, Mason & Richard Carpenter, Beatrice Daughtrey, Dorothy Ste. Marie, Mildred Murray & Gertrude Carpenter. Also survived by many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Funeral Service in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St, at Natick Common on Tues. Dec. 3rd at 9:30AM. Visiting hours from 8:00-9:30AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Interment in High St., Cemetery, Hampton, NH. with Military Honors.
