Gladys F. Coonan, 92, formerly of Dudley Rd., in Oxford passed away, Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in Webster manor. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Gladys was born in Worcester, daughter of George F. and Gladys H. (Ellis) Coonan, Sr. and lived many years in Oxford before moving to Webster several years ago. She was predeceased by her siblings; George F. Coonan, Jr. in 2009, Joseph C. Coonan in 1999, Olive E. Coonan in 2005, Jean A. Antos in 2001, Doris Marsh in 1985, and Ethel M. Elliott in 2013.Gladys worked for 42 years at the former American Optical Co. in Southbridge before retiring and was a member of the Quarter Century Club, she was also a member of St. Roch’s Church, was a volunteer at Fallon Clinic and also enjoyed crocheting baby blankets and hats.
As per Gladys wishes, there will be No Calling Hours.
A Memorial Mass for “Aunt Gladys” will be Saturday, December 7,2013 at 10 AM in St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford (Please meet at the Church), followed by burial in St. Roch’s Cemetery. In lieu of flower, Memorial Contributions may be made to: St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Roch’s Church, 334 Main St., Oxford, MA. 01540.
