Marvin Lee Barker, 71, of Anderson died on November 29, 2013 at Community Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born on December 30, 1941 in Anderson and has been a lifelong resident.
He was a industrial electrician at Delco Remy for 46 years and retired in 2007 and worked for Anderson Emergency Management.
He was a member of Elm Grove Christian Church. He gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized on August 25, 2013.
He was an avid motorcycle rider and a member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association chapter B2 Marion and Hoosier Wing Riders; He was a member of American Legion, Alexandria Eagle's Lodge #1771, and amateur ham radio operator and his call id was WA9WQS. He loved working on and with computers.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Lue Barker of Anderson whom he married on December 17, 2011 in Anderson; 5 children, Lee (Tammy) Barker, Sondra Allen (significant other, Sue Lindzy), and Tyler (Jennifer) Barker all of Anderson; Cora (Rick) Canada of Camby, IN; and Troy (Lori) Barker of Plano, TX; 2 step-children, Donna Kay Callahan of Elwood and Cliff (Tonya) Blevins of Jonesboro, IN; Sister, Betty Davis of Oaklandon, IN; 4 step-grandchildren, Clayton Jones, Maggie Jones, Sarrah Blevins, and Morgan Blevins; 1 great-granddaughter, Aubrey Rose Barker and 5 step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Elizabeth Barker and a sister, Lola Spicer.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 11:00am at Elm Grove Christian Church with Rev. Mike Whiteman officiating. The burial will take place at East Maplewood Cemetery.
The visitation will be on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 4:00-7:00pm at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
