NATICK, MA: Katherine Crowley (née Heckendorn), age 78, of Natick, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013, surrounded by her husband, children, and her much-loved cat, Champ.
She was born on Monday, October 28, 1935 in New York, NY to William and Margaret (née Joyce) Heckendorn. Katy was a graduate of the Abington, PA high school, and the Katherine Gibbs School in Philadelphia. She began her working career as a secretary in the advertising industry of New York’s Madison Avenue in the 1950’s, and spent the latter half of her career as a legal secretary in Natick. Still, no matter how much we tried, we could never get her to watch Mad Men.
Katy was survived by her husband Joseph Crowley; her older brother, William Heckendorn; her children Laura Buckley and husband Paul, Tom Mahoney and spouse Mike Jenks, and Jim Mahoney; her stepchildren Maryann Ngoon and husband Ken, Susan Lewis, and Joseph Crowley; 11 grandchildren, Benjamin and John Paul Buckley, Kara and Amy Ngoon, Matt Martin, Megan and Emma Lewis, Nic Beaton, and Joe, Sean, and Jada Crowley; one great-grandchild, Eli Lewis; and many kind and generous friends. She was predeceased by her first husband, Carl F. Mahoney of Jenkintown, PA, and Susan's husband, Richard Lewis.

Katy was a loving and strong-willed woman. She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.
