Funeral Services for Kathryn Bates, age 75 of 75 South Academy Ave., Sycamore, Ga. will be held Saturday, October 2, 2004, at 2:00 P. M. at the Sycamore Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Bates died Thursday at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Bates was a native of Colquitt County, Ga. the daughter of the late Murphy Allen and Lois Sutton Nelson. She had been a resident of Sycamore most of her life and was a member of the Sycamore Baptist Church. Her greatest pride and joy was her family and grandsons and great granddaughter. She was homemaker, wife and mother.
She is survived by her husband Sam Bates of Sycamore, son Terry Bates, daughter Vicki B. Barbee both of Sycamore, sisters Dannie Walker of Sycamore and Frances Dorminey of Chula, three Grandsons Barry Barbee, Brad Barbee, Benjie Barbee and one Great-Granddaughter Lily Barbee.
Visitation will be Friday evening Six until Eight at the funeral home.
