New Bedford – Jose Eduardo Sousa, age 53, passed away on Wednesday November 6, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Donna (Jones), the former wife of Maria Dos Anjos Pacheco and a son of the late Lurdes Vieira and the late Elias Sousa. He was born in São Miguel, Açores, immigrated to this country in 1977 and worked as a Custodian at Boston College. He enjoyed spending time with his children watching wrestling and being with his dog Julie-Angel.
His family includes his wife, Donna of New Bedford; 2 children: Phillip E. Sousa and Michael J. Sousa, both of New Bedford; the mother of his children, Maria Dos Anjos Pacheco, 2 sisters and 1 brother in São Miguel, as well as several nieces and nephews including Steven Antaya.
There will be a brief visitation with his cremains present on Friday, November 27 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with a Service to begin promptly at 11:30 A.M. Inurnment of his ashes will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery 1540 Stafford Rd. in Fall River. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
