Phillip V. “Hank” Silva, age 60, of Brockton, died November 13, 2013 at Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Deborah (Clark) Silva and son of the late Henry and Caroline (Encananzie) Silva. Hank was raised and educated in Brockton and for many years had been employed by Fred Gurley & Son Blacktop Company. Hank loved sports and in his youth played Pop Warner Football. He enjoyed time with his family and could be seen walking everywhere in the city.
He is survived by a son Tyson Silva; five grandchildren, two sisters Deborah Silva and Pamela McDonald; a brother Ricardo Ribeiro; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Sandra Baptiste and John “Jay” Alves.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday, November 30, from 1-3pm. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Melrose Cemetery, Monday December 2, at 10am.
