NATICK: Mary (Sciretta) Currier, age 81, died peacefully at her Natick home on Monday evening, November 25, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of the late Thomas Currier.
Born, raised and educated in Natick, Mary was a daughter of the late Peter and Antonetta (Zichella) Sciretta. She and Tom were married and settled in Framingham where they made a home and raised their daughter Debbie. Tom died in 1970.
Mary was employed with Best Pac prior to working as an assembler at Fenwal, Inc., until her retirement in 1995. She was an enthusiastic sports fan and would follow Boston teams as well as golf and tennis events. She enjoyed meeting friends to play Bingo, working crossword puzzles, keeping the yard tidy and doting on her little dog, Jack. She was happiest among her family and was blessed last Christmas with the gift of her first great-grandchild.
The companion for many happy years of the late James Lennon, Mary is survived by her daughter, Deborah Bedford and her husband Wayne of Natick; a grandson, Stephen Bedford and his wife Vania of Marlborough and their daughter, Ariana; a granddaughter, Stefanie Bedford of Natick; a sister, Teresa Napoleon of Natick; her brother, Dominic Sciretta of Natick; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Jennie Tkowski and Anna Leavitt.
Her funeral will be held in the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Friday, Nov. 29th at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow at Saint Patrick Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 9:30.
