Obituary

Joseph A. Curran, age 89 of Canton passed away on November 23rd at the VA Hospital in W. Roxbury. Born and raised in South Boston where he attended Boston Public School. Joe enlisted in the US Army at the age of 19, serving as a Corporal during WWII he earned a Gold Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and American Theater Campaign Ribbon. Mr. Curran worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Junior Civil Engineer for many years before retiring. Joe was a member of the Canton Senior Center, an avid Yankees fan and he loved listening to the radio. He was the beloved husband of the late Constance (Sloan). Father of Donna Pothier of VA and Joanne Callahan of TX. Brother of John “Jack” Curran of Milton, Noreen Gatto and Mary DiPerri both of S. Boston. Also survived by 5 grandchildren. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Wednesday at 12 noon. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday prior to the mass from 10:15 to 11:30. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery. Army Veteran WW II.
