CHICOPEE – Theresa M. “Terry” (O’Sullivan) Boone, 86, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, November 23, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by all the memories of her family whom she loved and cherished. She was born in Springfield on July 22, 1927 a beloved daughter of the late Timothy and Bridie (Barry) O’Sullivan. She was raised in the Winchester Square section of Springfield and graduated from Cathedral High School. She later lived for many years on Royal Street in the Pine Point section of Springfield before moving to Dennisport on Cape Cod in 1995. In 2002, following the death of her husband, William, she moved to Chicopee where she lived for the remainder of her life. During her early work years, Terry was employed as a secretary at the Monsanto Chemical Company in Indian Orchard. As her family grew, Terry became a stay at home mom to raise and nurture her children. She then returned to work as a secretary for the Springfield School Department and was last employed as a secretary for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Employment Security in Springfield. Terry enjoyed the simple things in life and during her leisure time enjoyed reading. The greatest joy of her life was being a homemaker to her family and showering them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Church in Springfield and later a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Springfield where she was a member of their Women’s Club. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, William T. Boone who was Called Home on July 27, 2001. They were married on June 23, 1951 at the former Holy Family Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 50 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving children, Patricia A. D’Amours of Hampden, Maryellen Kissel and her husband, Thomas, of Springfield, Anne Marie Barrett and her husband, John, of Bourne, MA, and William T. Boone and his wife, Gail, of Chicopee; her 11 cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Christina and Steven D’Amours, Bridget, Thomas, Garrett and Ann Kissel, Sean and Elizabeth Barrett, Sara Roth and her husband, Timothy, Colin Boone and his fiancée, Nicole Klein, and Laura Boone; her dear sister-in-law, Maryjane Burns of New Hampshire; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended members of the Boone and O’Sullivan families. In addition, Terry will be sadly missed by her faithful Irish bred dog, “Brodie”. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her dear sister, Dorothy O’Sullivan; and her dear brother and sister-in-law, John O’Sullivan and his wife, Eileen. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, November 27, 2013 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield, MA 01129. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
