Obituary

Shirley A. (Bonamici) Celia, age 62, of Brockton, passed away peacefully November 20, 2013 at her home under the loving care of her family. Born August 17, 1951 to Thomas G. Bonamici, Sr. of Brockton and the late Beverly A. (Donahue) Bonamici. She was raised in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School in 1971. Shirley worked at the Brockton Hospital and St. Joseph Manor as a nurse’s aide for many years. She enjoyed spending time at family gatherings, listening to music and dancing.
She is survived by her loving husband, John; her son Steven Turner of Whitman; her daughter Laura Turner of Brockton and grandson Alexander William. She also leaves her sisters Nancy Clinch and her husband Neal of Taunton; Joan MacLaughlin and her husband Mike of Brockton; one brother, Tom Bonamici, Jr. of Brockton and several nieces and nephews. Shirley also leaves behind John’s aunt Edna Curran of East Dennis.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte. 123) Brockton, Sunday from 2-6 pm. A funeral service will be held Monday in the funeral home at 11 am, followed by burial in Melrose Cemetery.
