Obituary

AUBURN-Grace E. Bombard-LaVigne, 92 of Stoneville Heights formerly of Apricot Street, Worcester died Friday, March 15th in St. Mary’s Healthcare, Worcester. Her former husband, Edward N. LaVigne died in 1985. She leaves several nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Joseph J. and Rosalie (Richard) Bombard and lived many years in Worcester before moving to Auburn. She graduated from Commerce High School and Elizabeth Ollis Beauty Academy in Worcester. During WWII, she was an occupational therapist for paraplegics in Cushing General Hospital in Framingham, for the Red Cross. Mrs. Bombard-LaVigne had also been a beautician for 24 years. She owned and operated Mi Lady’s Beauty Salon in Worcester for 18 years, before retiring in 1973. She was a volunteer for many years in area nursing homes and hospitals including 10 years at the Lincoln Nursing Home visiting the blind. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and it’s Thursday Afternoon Club. She was also a member of Fr. DiOrio’s ministry the Apostle of Devine healing and Mercy for 13 years.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, March 19th at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of the Angels Mortgage Fund, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603.
