Louis J. Caron 85, of Poplar St., formerly of Bernon St. died peacefully with his daughters by his side, on Sunday November 17, 2013, at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Muriel P. (Biron) Caron, with whom he celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary, June 6, 2013. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Cyrille and Marie Flore (Genest) Caron. Louis worked for several area textile mills including the French Worsted and Forte Cashmere. He liked the New England Patriots, the Red Sox, and was a huge fan of Notre Dame Football. Louis enjoyed playing the harmonica.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters, Lucille M. Champagne and her husband Gerald, and Priscilla J. Heard, all of Woonsocket, a sister Muriel Dagesse of Woonsocket and five grandchildren, James, Thomas, William, and Andrew Champagne all of Woonsocket, and Kelly Granata of Pawtucket. He was also the brother of the late Roland Caron and Theresa Dagesse. He had a great love of family and was very proud of his grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Tuesday 4-7 PM.
