WESTFIELD – Jeanne M. (Bushey) Montanaro, 81, a longtime resident of Westfield was Called Safely Home on Saturday, November 16, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Springfield on December 12, 1931, a beloved daughter of the late Ralph and Alida (Barselou) Bushey. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from Cathedral High School, and lived in Springfield for many years before moving to Westfield in 1978. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Augustus J. “Gus” Montanaro who was Called Home on April 18, 2009. They were married on April 11, 1953 at the former Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Springfield and were blessed with 56 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving children, Michael G. Montanaro and his wife, Sandra Lapierre, of Montreal, P.Q., Canada, and Debra A. Dowers of Springfield; her four cherished grandchildren, Malcolm and Sakeenah Montanaro, Ralph Dowers, III and Aaron Dowers; her twin great-grandsons, Calvin and Curtis Dowers; her dear sister, Beverly Biskup of Riverside, CA; her dear sister-in-law, Nancy Bushey of Florida; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, and extended members of the Montanaro and Bushey families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her dear brother, Ronald Bushey. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke, Road, Westfield, MA 01085. A brief reception will follow the Mass in the parish hall which will be followed by her burial at 1 p.m. at Saint Michael Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109.
