Joyce McDonald Poole, 74, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, November 16, 2013, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 12 Noon, Monday, November 18, 2013, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Terry Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Poole was born October 19, 1939, in Eastman to the late James F. “Nick” and Esther Smith McDonald. A former resident of Lithia Springs, she moved to the community in 1999. She was a former accounts payable clerk for APS and Athlete’s Foot. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her daughter: Denise & Thomas Steverson of Irwin County; three grandchildren: Jamie & Jessica Hasty of Fitzgerald, Joy & Mikell Brown of Irwin County, and Ronica Jackson of Baxley; four great-grandchildren: Jailynn Hasty, Daidyn Hasty, Madison Brown and Braden Brown; sister: Delores McDonald of Fitzgerald; sister-in-law: Kay Swearington and brother-in-law: Randy Joe Poole, both of Tullahoma, Tennessee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: K.P. Poole on June 4, 2013.
