Obituary

Michael C. Cole, 19, of Longmeadow passed away unexpectedly on Monday November 11, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center from injuries he sustained from a motorcycle accident. Michael was born in Springfield on July 12, 1994. He lived in Longmeadow and was a graduate of Longmeadow High School class of 2013. He had begun business studies at STCC. As a boy Michael played youth soccer and football and was a member of Boy Scout Troop 90. As he grew Michaels natural talent with machines of all kinds blossomed. He became an avid mechanic and found freedom riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes and ATV’s with his friends. Michael was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of St Luke where he formerly served on the altar. He will be remembered as a loyal trusted friend and mentor. His quiet demeanor gave way to his infectious laughter and great sense of humor to those who knew him. To know Michael was to understand his fierce dedication to the things he believed in and to those he loved. He leaves behind his loving mother Pamela Anastasiou-Cole; his devoted sister Anastasia Stephanie Cole; his beloved grandmother Penelope “Yia-Yia” Anastasiou all of Longmeadow. His grandfather George Anastasiou of Naples, FL and his close knit group of lifelong friends. Calling Hours will be held on Friday November 15, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee, MA. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Morning November 16, 2013 with an hour of visitation held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Greek Orthodox Church of St Luke, 400 Prospect St. East Longmeadow, MA and Services to start at 10:30 AM with Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Chicopee. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in Michael’s memory through a scholarship fund for his sister Anastasia Cole, C/O TD Banknorth, 847 William St. Longmeadow, MA 01106.
