Mrs. Marie A. Covino, age 82, a Medford resident for most of her life passed away unexpectedly on November 11th, at the Tufts Medical Center in Boston. She was the beloved wife of George R. Covino and together they shared nearly sixty years of marriage. Born in Somerville, Marie was the daughter of the late Alfred F. and Anne G. (Caterini) Bonaccorsi.
Marie was raised and educated in Medford where she was a Medford high School graduate with the class of 1947. Marie was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was also an avid reader and throughout her life together with her husband they enjoyed traveling, taking cruises and always dancing. Her greatest joy was to be surrounded by large and loving family, especially her grandchildren, making sure that all their needs were taken care of.
She was the devoted mother of Maurice Covino of Providence, RI, George Covino Jr. and his partner Will Ashmore of Palm Springs, CA, Anne Leetch and her husband John of Medford, Alfred Covino and his wife Margaret of Hudson, NH. She was the loving grandmother of Rachel Holzwart and her husband Brad, Maury Covino and his mother Debbie Covino, Amanda Leetch and her husband Bill Lynch, Marie Leetch and Alan Blankenship, William Leetch, George Leetch, Fred Covino Jr., Richard Covino and his wife Jackie. Cherished sister of Ruth Milar and her late husband Mike, Mary Covino, Joanne Gastonguay and her husband Paul, the late Alfred and Joan Bonaccorsi, Margaret and John Sullivan, Helen and Jack Lee, Nicholas and Dot Covino. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Friday, November 15th, at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Interment services will be private.
