Stanton J. Fournier, A retired Electronics Technician with Raytheon, died Saturday at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. He was 81
Mr. Fournier was born and raised in the shadow of the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown, the son of the late John and the late Nora (Dooley) Fournier. After High School, Stanton was among the first 500 employees to begin work at Raytheon. Immediately after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Stanton enlisted in the Navy and served four years during World War II. Injured while serving, Stanton completed his tour and then returned to Raytheon and worked there until his retirement. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association. Stanton and his wife of 60 years, Eva (Sammaria) settled in Medford over 50 years ago.
He was the beloved husband of Eva T. (Sammaria) Fournier. He was a devoted father of Robert J. Fournier and his wife Jane of Nashua, NH and a loving grandfather to April and Sheila. He was a dear uncle to Elizabeth Trimble, Georgianna Lippman, Mary Steffen, Virginia McLaughlin, William Jordan, Jack Fournier, Judy Cally, Bernard Fournier and the late Lorraine Lopes.
Relatives and friends may visit Wednesday from 4 - 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, Medford, Thursday at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
