Murphy, John T. of Marshfield, formerly of South Boston, passed away on November 9, 2013 at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Jane M.(Rankin) Murphy. Loving father of John C. Murphy and his wife Christine of Marshfield, Jane and her husband Gary Covitz of Marshfield, Douglas Murphy and his wife Maryanne of Sandwich and Erin Murphy of Marshfield. Loving grandfather of Sarah, Leah, Chelsey, Cameron, Brian, Brendan, Angela and Finn. Loving great grandfather of Mia. Dear brother of Peggy Hogan of South Boston, Kathleen Kwiatanowski of Marshfield, Michael Murphy of NH and the late Lorraine Nee. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late John J. and Margaret (Burke) Murphy. John served in the US Marine Corp. He worked as a supervisor for the Gillette Company in Boston. John has been a resident of Marshfield for 37 years.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Wednesday, November 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Thursday, November 14 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal St. in Marshfield at 10:00 a.m. Interment in MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 12:30 p.m.
