Margaret A. "Peg" (Finnegan) Gaudette, 68, of 2 Monticello Dr., passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on Sunday, Sept. 26.She was the wife of Donald J. Gaudette who died in 1994. She leaves a daughter Patricia G. wife of William P. Kularski of E.Brookfield, two sons Kenneth J. Gaudette, Sr. with whom she lived and William C. husband of Carolyn D. Gaudette of Spencer, a brother Ronald husband of Mary Finnegan of N.J., and a sister Eleanor wife of Henry Gawle of Webster, three grandsons Kenneth J., Jr., Tyler J. and Jacob W. Gaudette, three grandaughters, Sarah M. and Brianna L. Gaudette and Amanda R. Kularski, nieces and nephews.Mrs. Gaudette worked 7 years at American Optical in Southbridge, then became the first full-time executive secretary for the Board of Selectman in Spencer where she worked for 17 years. She then was a sales clerk for 7 years at the CVS store in Spencer, before retiring in 2002.Peg and her husband, Don were co-founders of the Spirit of Christmas Committee and entertained children in Town for many years as Santa and Mrs. Claus. She enjoyed reading, cross word puzzles, travel and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. Born in Webster, she was the daughter of George H. and Gertrude V. (Doherty) Finnegan. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1956. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.The funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 29 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, N.Brookfield Rd., E.Brookfield. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Tuesday, Sept. 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either V.N.A.
