Obituary

Georgette A. (Soucy) Bedard, passed away, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of Normand J. Bedard with whom she had shared 67 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Bella (Bergeron) Soucy. During the war years she first worked for Sylvania in Salem. She later worked in bookkeeping for the former M. H. Baker’s women’s apparel shop in Salem.

A kind and gentle woman, what Georgette enjoyed most in life was her family. She loved cooking and providing them with a warm and nurturing home life. The welcome matt was always out for family and friends at the Bedard home.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Celeste M. Corriveau and her companion, Steven Mauriello of Boxford, Anne Marie Bedard of Salem, two sons, Richard N Bedard and his wife Judith, of Laconia, NH, Philip G. Bedard and his wife Gail of Beverly as well as three grandchildren, Richard Bedard, Jr. and his wife Alison, Stephanie Bedard and Justin Corriveau, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Pauline Laporte.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be private.
