Theresa A. (Masterson) Mendoza, age 76, of Norton passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, November 7, 2013. She was the beloved wife and best friend of Anthony Mendoza, Sr.
Born in Taunton, MA on August 24,1937, she was a daughter of the late Harold, Sr. and Henrietta (Meunier) Masterson. She grew up and was educated in Taunton.
A resident of Norton for the past 48 years, Mrs. Mendoza had been employed as a Quality Control Inspector at the Sinclair Manufacturing Co. in Norton prior to retiring.
Theresa loved spending time in the presence of her adoring family and with friends. She and her husband Tony enjoyed spending time together which included camping trips and traveling by way of motorcycle.
Theresa had a special place in her heart for children and especially for events which benefited the Shriners. Mrs. Mendoza will always with fondness be remember for her “uncanny sense of humor”
In addition to her beloved husband she is survived by her devoted children, Shelley Mowry of Norton, Barbara Jean Souza of Taunton, Robert Fitzgerald of Norton, Michael Fitzgerald of Norton, Lisa Tumminello of Florida, Richard Fitzgerald of Bellingham, and Jack Fitzgerald of Norton. She was the dear sister of Mary Kates, Raymond Masterson and the late Harold “Scoopy” Masterson, Jr. She is also survived by her cherished 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. She was the stepmother of Cathy Foster of Taunton, Lori Thiel of Texas, Anthony Mendoza, Jr. of Taunton, Janet Winslow of Taunton and the late Doreen Dupont. She was the grandmother of the late Nicole Fitzgerald and great grandmother of the late Elliana Fitzgerald.
Services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Visitation has been omitted.
