Rutland-Bernice S. (Broman) LaCross, 78 of 106 Main Street died Friday, March 15th at home after an illness. Her husband, Lionel L. LaCross died in 1974. She leaves her son Bruce E. LaCross of Rutland; her daughter Patricia Shugrue-LaCross of Worcester; a brother Roy Broman of Worcester; a sister Doris Lucier of Auburn; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. A son Richard R. LaCross and a sister, Ethel Lechinsky predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester daughter of Ragnard and Cecila (Fountain) Broman and lived there for many years before moving to Rutland. Mrs. LaCross had worked many years in the food service department of various nursing homes, retiring in 1989. She was Miss Webster Square in 1939.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 19th in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
