James H. “Jim” McCarthy age 69 of Brockton, died Saturday November 2, 2013 at the Sachem Center for Health and Rehabilitation after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Linda A. (Gingilisky) McCarthy. Jim was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late William and Georgiana (Bates) McCarthy and had lived in East Bridgewater for much of his life before returning to Brockton.
Jim had worked in the warehouse of Foot Joy/Titlest Shoe in Acushnet and previously Instron Corp in Canton for over 25 years. He was a talented craftsman creating many projects from plastic and plexiglass. Jim also enjoyed antique and classic cars owning a 1929 Model A and a 1932 Ford pickup. He was a member the Wheels of Time, South Shore Street Rods and the Pacesetters.
Jim was the father of Kellie McCarthy of Brockton and step-father of Jennifer Monahan of Brockton. He leaves four grandchildren Elizabeth, Tyler, Daniel and Alicia and a great grandson Nasir. He was the brother of Pam Wise of West Bridgewater and the late William McCarthy, Jr., and brother-in-law of Edward and Joseph Gingilisky. He also leaves his devoted pets, Ginger, Ebony, Jack and Buddy.
