Obituary

WORCESTER___Edward P. Rojcewicz, Sr., 84, of 92 Vernon St., a retired attorney, died Friday Sept. 24 in Radius Health Care Center, Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Therese H. (Kosciuszko) Rojcewicz; three sons, Edward P. Rojcewicz, Jr., of Rutland; Daniel J. Rojcewicz of Memphis, TN., and David A. Rojcewicz of Nantucket Island; two daughters, Eleanor C. Speed of Seminole, Fl., and Susan M. Rojcewicz of Three Rivers, CA., 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of Peter and Eleanor (Surwillo) Rojcewicz and lived here all his life. He graduated from St. Mary’s Grammar School in 1934, Classical High School in 1938 and from the College of the Holy Cross in 1942. He studied at Colgate University and received his Juris Doctorate degree from Boston University Law School in 1948.

He was a Naval veteran of World War II serving as an Ensign on a light cruiser and a mine sweeper in the Atlantic theater.

Mr. Rojcewicz practiced law for 50 years. He was in practice with his brother, Walter, at Rojcewicz & Rojcewicz and was also a partner with the firm Samborski, Rojcewicz & Meehan. He retired in 1998. He was a 50 year member of the Catholic Alumni Sodality of Our Lady at the College of the Holy Cross. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, the Worcester County Bar Association, Vernon Hill Post 435 American Legion, and was a member of and judge advocate for the Polish American Veteran's of World War II.

The funeral will be held on Monday Sept. 27 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czesatochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Sunday Sept. 26 from 5 to 8 p.m.
