WORCESTER-Joseph F. Coggans, 87, of 9 Montague Street died Saturday, September 25th in Memorial Hospital. He leaves his wife of 49 years, Evelyn R. (Paula) Coggans, a stepson, Howard D. Bryte of Dedham, a son, Joseph F. Coggans, Jr. of Millbury, a sister, Margaret Foster of Auburn, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
He was born in Southbridge the son of Joseph M. and Marguerite (Dunn) Coggans and graduated from Commerce High School. Mr. Coggans retired from Plymouth High School in Plymouth, NH where he worked as a custodian. Previously he worked as a security guard for U.S. Steel and Wire Company and as a traffic manager for the Androck Company. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church.
The funeral is Monday, September 27th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 8:30 until 9:30 in the funeral home the morning of the funeral.
