Giacomo Pellegrini, 79, of Salem, NH passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 8, 1934 in San Donato, Italy, a son of the late Antonio and Maria C. (Decina) Pellegrini. Mr. Pellegrini was a resident of Salem for 2 years, formerly living for many years in Derry. He immigrated to the United States from Italy in 1954, where he joined the Bricklayers Union Local # 3 in Boston, MA. He was a hardworking, dedicated family man.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rose (Speranza) Pellegrini of Salem, his two children, John Pellegrini and his wife Cherie of Derry, and Lisa M. Capistran and her husband Raymond of Derry, four grandchildren, Cayla and Michael Pellegrini and Brittany and Briana Capistran, one sister, Laura Pellegrini of Watertown, MA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Calling hour was held on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 9:30 – 10:30am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday at 11:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Crystal Avenue, Derry. Burial followed at 1:30pm in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 1 Commons Drive Unit #33, Londonderry, NH 03053 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
