Daniel E. Paquet, 83, of Manchester passed away peacefully at his home, on November 2, 2013,with his loving family by his side.
He was born in St. Nicholas, Quebec, Canada, December 1, 1929, the son of Jules and Dora (Genest) Paquet. He was educated in Canada and attended Manchester Central High School, where he studied English.
Prior to retirement, he had worked at Genest Bakery and later retired from St. Anselm's College, where he worked as a custodian.
Daniel was a member of The Legion of One Thousand Men of the Precious Blood, American Legion, Catholic War Veterans and a parishioner of St. Anthony Church. He loved vegetable gardening, was a lifelong hockey player and sports enthusiast whose favorite teams were the NY Yankees and Giants. Family was always number one in Daniel's life, having tremendous love for his wife, daughters and especially his grandchildren and great grand children.
Family members include his wife of 51 years, Marjorie (Ouellet) Paquet of Manchester; three daughters, Donna Trumble and her husband Daniel of Manchester, Diane Paquet of Manchester and Debra Filleul and her husband Matthew of New Boston; four grandchildren, Jason Champagne and wife Carrie, Brian Champagne and his fiancé Ashlie, Courtney Trumble and Griffin Paquet, all of Manchester; two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Troy Champagne of Manchester; two sisters, Theresa Methot and Lisette Paquet; and three brothers, Jacques, Rosaire and Richard Paquet all of CA; along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both parents; four brothers, Gilbert, Bernard, Steve and Alphonse Paquet; and two sisters, Gabrielle Richards and Cecile Paquet.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Belmont St., followed by committal prayers in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum.
