Colleen McDermott of Center Sandwich, N.H. is now resting in peace. Her passing on Saturday, October 19th ended a very long and difficult battle which she so courageously fought to leave behind her legacy of strength, determination and will for all the many lives she has touched.
She is the daughter of Andrew and Maureen McDermott of Warwick, N.Y. Born in Manhattan and raised in Warwick she resided in New Hampshire after completing her degree in Exercise Physiology at Boston University. Her desire and zest for education, stewardship and service around health, fitness and well-being led her to continue her academic accomplishments achieving a Masters Degree in Health Education from Plymouth State University and finally a Masters Degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. Her mission was to serve, heal and care for others.
Her commitment and fortitude to do so is clearly exemplified by the relationships that surrounded and defined her life.
She is survived by her three devoted children, Samuel John, Joshua William and Caleb Andrew all of New Hampshire. A brother Michael McDermott and life companion Deborah Brunjes. A sister, Luanne Furman and husband Bill Furman, nephew Nicholas Race and niece Aleyah Grace Furman all of New York.
